Gentle Dentistry for Children in Longmont, CO

A group of five children playing
At Artistic Smiles, we treat children once they’ve reached about three years of age. As a Longmont kid’s dentist, Dr. Goldtrap knows the importance of setting a positive view of the dentist, so the first few visits are very gentle.

Until the patient is four, Dr. Goldtrap will perform a half visit to check teeth and reinforce positive dental habits.

Positive Reinforcement Leads to Excellent Dental Habits

Happy Patients
Starting at four and above, kids are invited to watch a children’s movie during the treatment with televisions mounted above every chair. This keeps them occupied while making the dental office a fun place to be. Dr. Goldtrap and his staff are all very friendly and can communicate at an age-appropriate level.

Positive Habits
We reinforce positive children’s dental habits with praise. We also decorate our dental office with kids in mind, using a picture board of our young patients who had no cavities on their latest visit. A treasure chest is also available for kids to pick out a fun toy after their visit. With the right emphasis on proper dental care, kids’ smiles can be healthy and strong for life!
