Restore Your Smile!

At Artistic Smiles, we can replace your missing teeth with durable, high-quality dental bridges that restore your smile and the functionality of your mouth with natural-looking replacements.

A dental bridge is a custom-made mechanism fastened to adjacent teeth, which replaces one or more missing teeth. The procedure is simple: The teeth on both sides of the missing one are prepped as crowns to work as a support mechanism to keep the replacement tooth in position. Crowns and bridges are made out of high-quality materials, such as semiprecious or precious metals, porcelain, or a blend of the two. Appearance, objective, and tissue match are taken into consideration when determining the best material for you.

In creating traditional dental bridges (also known as ‘fixed bridges’) at our Longmont cosmetic dentistry office, a Pontic (false) tooth is built with a dental crown on each side. From there, the crowns are fit over the natural teeth to keep the false tooth in place.

How We Create Dental Bridges

Traditional Bridges

In a resin-connected dental bridge, the Pontic tooth is fused to a metal band. The metal band is fastened to the back of the adjacent teeth with resin cement. A Cantilever bridge is suggested when teeth are only on one side of the gap. Traditionally bridges have a crown on one side of the Pontic tooth, but a cantilever bridge has two side by side crowns while only one is connected to the Pontic.

Esthetic Crowns

Esthetic crowns can be utilized to increase look and purpose. This type of crown should be built for functionality, but with greater emphasis on appearance. For optimal results, porcelain crowns are recommended for the translucent condition, which allows the simulation of natural teeth. This is a vital component for both beautiful crowns and bridges.

Long-Lasting

With attentive oral hygiene, a dental bridge may hold up to 10 years. With improper daily oral care (brushing and flossing), irregular dentist visits, and excessive sugar or starch intake, the bridge may become damaged and need to be replaced sooner.
